Two months of Picture of the Day
"It is hard to believe it has already been two months since I returned to South Korea. That also means it has been two months of Picture of the Day. Just like I did last month, here is a gallery of this month's Pictures of the Day."
Hua Lamphong Station
"I think trains are pretty neat. One of my favorite train journeys was in September last year when I went from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, Thailand. The entire ride was about 13 hours, but it was a sleeper train that went through the night."
Don Mueang Airport
"I flew out of Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok, Thailand, very early in the morning on a December day last year. The flight marked the beginning of my long journey back to Wisconsin after more than a year living abroad in Asia."

The Longest Day, Revisited
"I am in South Korea. After approximately three months back home in Wisconsin, I have returned to Daejeon to teach another year at my hagwon. When I first traveled to South Korea, I wrote about it in a blog post. Coincidentally, my second flight to Incheon International Airport followed the same route and schedule."
Riding the rails and Korean public transit
"I have to give a great amount of credit to the Korean government because their public transit system phenomenal. I have only been living in Daejeon for a little more than six months, but thanks to South Korea's quick and convenient public transportation network I have already been able to visit Seoul and Busan numerous times each, as well as Cheonan, Daegu, Ulsan, and countless small towns on my way to Byeonsanbando National Park."
Byeonsanbando National Park
"When I first started pursuing a job teaching English abroad, I often found myself daydreaming about hitchhiking down country roads lined with rice paddies, hiking up and down rural mountains, jumping into remote pools fed by waterfalls, and lounging on a beach with a beer and friends from all around the world.
Last weekend I did exactly that when three friends and I trekked to Byeonsanbando National Park."
